Overview:

The client provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government and institutional clients who choose us for our knowledge and experience in five key areas of finance: Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Institutional Equities, Private Equity and Foreign Exchange & Money Market. Our services include the underwriting and distribution of new debt and equity issues, providing advice on strategic acquisitions and divestitures, and executing daily trading and investment needs.

The Equity Derivatives and FX Options Support Groups are responsible for providing global support to equity and FX derivatives trading businesses located in major financial centres including Toronto, New York, Chicago, London and Dublin.

Job Description:

The IT business analyst position interacts with all users of Murex (3rd party trading platform) including Front Office traders, Finance & Operations, Back Office, Treasury Credit, and Risk Management to develop and implement lasting and robust technology solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing business problems and gathering the necessary requirements for on-going project initiatives. Working alongside the development team, the analyst will be required to deliver detailed specifications and project documentation and will have significant input regarding design and development. The analyst is also accountable for final testing and implementation as well as peer reviews of other projects.

Specific Educational Requirements:

• An undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business/Finance.
• CFA designation will be considered an asset.

Other Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

• Strong written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on translating complex concepts and procedures
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently while facing new and challenging obstacles
• 2+ year(s) continuous work experience in technology projects with exposure to capital markets
• Proficiency with SQL and working in a UNIX shell environment
• Experience with Murex would be an asset
• Knowledge of vanilla and exotic equity derivative products
