Overview:

The client provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government and institutional clients who choose us for our knowledge and experience in five key areas of finance: Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Institutional Equities, Private Equity and Foreign Exchange & Money Market. Our services include the underwriting and distribution of new debt and equity issues, providing advice on strategic acquisitions and divestitures, and executing daily trading and investment needs.

The Equity and FX Derivatives Support Group is responsible for providing global support to Securities Equity and FX derivatives trading business located in major financial centres including Toronto, New York, Chicago, London and Dublin.

Job Description:

The IT business analyst position interacts with all users of Murex (3rd party trading platform) including Front Office traders, Finance & Operations, Back Office, Treasury Credit, and Risk Management to develop and implement lasting and robust technology solutions as well as support the existing application and surrounding framework.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Support daily business operations and regular users of Murex application
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with derivatives trading and marketing, Operations & Finance, Treasury Credit, Risk Management, and offshore units.
• Provide required expertise to all users of Murex, vendor based system and book of record for equity derivatives business
• Contribute to the smooth, effective implementation of new and enhanced products, systems, and services
• Provide documentation and expertise for new products, processes, and enhancements to all users
• Develop ad-hoc reporting tools for all business groups
• Periodic on-call support and shift work required

Specific Educational Requirements:

• An undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business/Finance.
• CFA designation will be considered an asset.

Other Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

• Strong written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on translating complex concepts and procedures
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently while facing new and challenging obstacles
• Proficiency with SQL and working in a UNIX shell environment
• 1+ year(s) continuous work experience in technology projects an asset
• Knowledge of capital markets an asset, specifically equity derivative products
